Promoting the responsible manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, usage and disposal of foodservice packaging

The FPA has a wide ranging environmental agenda and the FPA Environment Committee meets regularly to agree the Association’s environmental policies.  We discuss issues with foodservice operators and caterers and seek to keep our members informed and deal with enquiries from the public, government and other organisations. We feel achievements can be made by working with other organisations including INCPEN, The Packaging Federation and the material trade associations.

The FPA Annual Environment Seminar takes place in January and is attended by members, their customers and trade associations, government, local authorities and academic organisations. The 2015 seminar focussed on bringing the foodservice chain together to increase the recycling of foodservice packaging. The seminar featured presentations from Costa Coffee, Pret A Manger, LARAC, Viridor, BaxterStorey, Mark Pawsey MP (Chair of the All Party Parliamentary group for Packaging), Simply Cups and WRAP. In addition EU packaging waste developments were discussed with presentations from DEFRA, Ball Packaging and INCPEN.
