HOLE LOT OF FUN AT FPA GOLF AND ACTIVITIES DAY

The annual FPA Golf and Activities Day took place at the deVere Staverton Estates in glorious sunshine and with the usual healthy competitive atmosphere.

The golfers set out over 18 holes in teams of four.  On-course competitions included nearest to the pin and a charity competition on hole 12.  The ultimate winners were Bunzl Catering Supplies with Matt Johnson, Robin Maxwell, Darren Hall and Tyrone Melgar.  Runners up were the team comprised of Jeremy Bennet, Martin Walker, Simon Trander and Steve Flaherty. Howard Colliver’s team were third.     Nearest the pin on hole 4 was Gary Briscoe, hole 8 Les Dolling and hole 16 Nigel Cannon.  David Llewellyn won the prize on hole 12 where £480 was raised towards the FPA nominated charity Great Ormond Street hospital, with the hole bravely manned by Martin Kersh who took the money and IOUs.   Josh Friedler won the Longest Drive.

2018 golf winners

The Activities Day this year comprised karting and clay pigeon shooting and was also hotly contested with Rapid Action Packaging emerging victors.   Nupik-Flo were runners up with Jangro coming in third.  Winners of the Clay Pigeon Shooting were Karen Neale and Benn Ely and the best overall competitor was Guy Jacques.

2018 activities winners

Organisers Graham Foster and Cliff Mason, with support from Caroline Crawford, were thanked by Chairman Howard Colliver for their superb delivery of an excellent and memorable day.

Comments on the day included: “Great company, great course” “I have played many courses and the greens were as good as any of them”  “I’ve been a member for 26 years and this has been the best activities event yet” “Karting was really good and we were looked after really well”.
