The FPA has announced the line-up for its 2022 Environment Seminar which focuses on the immediate priorities and concerns facing the UK foodservice packaging sector. Lorna Slater MSP, Scottish Minister for Green Skills, Circular Economy and Biodiversity, will give the headline address (by video) on Scotland’s programme on single use plastics and single use cups. This is believed to be the first time the Minister has addressed a UK packaging association.
The programme also includes a session on the Plastics Packaging Tax with two speakers from HMRC, a session on plastic and paper pricing and availability with Neil Osment from NOA on paper and board, and Egor Demente from ICIS on plastics. Further sessions include Steve Morgan and Tom McBeth from RECOUP talking about verifying plastics recycled content and in the afternoon Michelle Wilson from WasteAid is speaking on waste exports and waste management solutions for the developing world. Two further afternoon sessions are planned, with Linda Crichton from Defra on government priorities and a session on PRN/PERN Reforms with James Skidmore from Valpak and Jon Brooke from Ecosurety. These last three will then form a final discussion panel.
The seminar is chaired by FPA Chairman Mark Pawsey MP.
