Highlights from the FPA Golf and Activities Day

 

Nearly one hundred members and their guests attended the FPA Golf and Activities Day at Breadsall Priory, Derbyshire, on 11 June 2026.

Members had the choice of competing on the golf course or taking part in a fun-packed activities programme featuring duck herding, axe throwing, welly wanging and races, to name just a few. Despite the dreadful weather, spirits remained high throughout the day, with participants refusing to let the rain dampen their enthusiasm or enjoyment.

A huge thank you once again to our sponsors, Conglom, Paranova and South Staffordshire Paper Products; to ICS for donating the crisps, chocolate bars and drinks for the goody bags; and to Conglom, Cofresco, KP, Huhtamaki and Breadsall Priory for generously donating prizes for the charity raffle, which raised money for WasteAid.

Activities Team Winners

The 'Quintessentially English' Activities Day included axe-throwing, welly wanging, badminton, races, and duck herding, to name but a few. The winning team consisted of Mel Burton, Sam Reid, Alex Curran of Klockner Pentaplast, Kit Coooper of Easyfairs, and Lisa McGowan of the FPA. They each went home with a medal and a bottle of champagne.

Top Golfer

Best golfer on the day and winner of the FPA claret jug was Graham Foster of RPS who also won a golfing shirt. The jug and the green jacket were presented by Cliff Mason of Eximex. Cliff is on the FPA Charity and Events committee and organised the golf.

Winners of the coveted FPA Golf Shield were the Essity Team consisting of Jeremy Bennett, Robert Broadbent, and Simon Tanser, who each won a pack of golf balls and a bottle of champagne.
