Nominate a Young & Emerging Professional

Who in your organisation should we be watching?

To launch the FPA Young & Emerging Professionals (YEP) initiative we are offering 10 complimentary places at the FPA Environment Seminar on Thursday 05 November 2026 to emerging professionals from FPA member organisations.

The 10 selected participants will become the founding FPA YEP cohort – gaining access to the seminar, new industry connections and future opportunities through the programme.

Who can be nominated?

Nominees should:

    • Work for a current FPA member organisation.
    • Be under 30 on 5 November 2026.
    • Be at an early or developing stage of their career.
    • Demonstrate curiosity, commitment and potential.
    • Have an interest in developing their understanding of the wider foodservice packaging sector.

We welcome nominations from across every part of member businesses, including manufacturing, engineering, technical, sustainability, design, digital, commercial, marketing, supply chain and regulatory roles.

Apprentices, graduates, trainees and people following vocational or technical career pathways are particularly encouraged.

The nomination process

Steps 1-3

Identify someone with potential

Think about someone within your organisation who would benefit from meeting people from across the industry, understanding the wider issues affecting the sector and developing their professional network.

Speak to them and gain their consent

Please make sure your nominee is happy to be put forward and is available to attend the FPA Environment Seminar at Stationers' Hall, St Paul's, London on Thursday 05 November.

Complete the nomination form

The nomination form should take less than five minutes to complete. It includes:

    • Your details.
    • Your nominee's name and role.
    • A short explanation of why you are nominating them.
    • What you believe they would gain from participating in the FPA YEP initiative.
Steps 4-6

We get in touch with your nominee

Once the nomination has been submitted, the nominee will be invited to complete a short confirmation form telling us:

    • What interests them about the future of foodservice packaging.
    • What they would most like to learn, experience or discuss through FPA YEP.
    • That they are happy to participate and available on 05 November to attend the FPA Environment Seminar.

After the deadline we will let both you and your nominee know whether they are one of the founding 10 Young & Emerging Professionals.

Not selected this time. All is not lost! YEP will extend beyond the 10 Environment Seminar places.

With the nominee's permission, we would like to keep them informed about future networking, development, site visits and other opportunities as the programme grows.

How will the 10 participants be selected?

After the closing date the FPA will select 10 participants

We are looking to create a balanced group of emerging professionals who can benefit from the opportunity and contribute different perspectives.

We want the founding cohort to reflect the breadth of our membership and will consider:

    • The strength of the nomination.
    • How the individual is likely to benefit.
    • Their career stage and role.
    • Representation across different parts of the supply chain.
    • A mix of technical, operational, environmental and commercial disciplines.
    • Company size and background.

What will the selected YEPs receive?

Each selected participant will receive:

    • A complimentary place at the FPA Environment Seminar.
    • The opportunity to meet the other members of the founding YEP cohort.
    • Introductions to people from across the foodservice packaging sector.
    • Access to the full seminar programme.
    • Opportunities to contribute questions and perspectives.
    • An invitation to become involved in the continuing FPA YEP programme.
